Treatment Approaches

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a form of psychotherapy that combines mindfulness strategies with behavioral techniques to help individuals develop psychological flexibility. It is based on the premise that all emotions are a normal part of human experience and emphasizes acceptance of one's thoughts and feelings rather than suppression or avoidance.

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a type of psychotherapy that blends cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness strategies. It helps individuals learn skills to manage emotions, tolerate distress, improve relationships, and achieve their goals. DBT has proven effective for various conditions marked by emotional dysregulation and interpersonal challenges.

  • Recovery from substance use disorder isn't a one-size-fits-all solution. I have substantial knowledge and resources regarding 12-step practices. While I integrate 12-step concepts into my approach, I prioritize supporting clients in determining their own path to recovery. My inclination is towards an abstinent-based philosophy, yet I am equally effective in working with individuals pursuing harm reduction strategies.
